We can go into all kinds of science and ethics about why touting a waste bag as “biodegradable” is irresponsible, but let’s keep it simple and explain it in two simple sentences:

First, biodegradable bags need oxygen to break down.  Second, if that is true, then how do they get oxygen when they are stuck deep in landfills?

It’s that simple. If the industry’s most popular bags physically can’t break down, then who cares if they are biodegradable?
